Deus Ex Remastered Delayed Indefinitely To Address Fan Feedback – WGB

Deus Ex Remastered was set to launch on February 5, 2026, but developer and publisher Aspyr has announced that it has been indefinitely delayed.

Why, you might ask? Because of the backlash from fans that occurred after the game’s reveal. It debuted back in September on a PlayStation State of Play event with a brief gameplay teaser. The graphical overhaul was the most immediately noticeable change, and fans were less than impressed. Currently, the top comment says it best: “upgraded visuals from 2000 to 2006.”

The biggest criticisms are levelled at the atmosphere, which the graphical overhaul changes quite a bit.

As a result of the fan’s displeasure, Aspyr announced today that it’s indefinitely delaying the game.

“We’ve listened to what you said, and in order to better meet fan expectations and deliver the best possible experience for players, Deus Ex Remastered will no longer launch on Feb. 5, 2026,” says its social media post, made today.

All existing pre-orders will be refunded.

No new release date was mentioned, indicating that Aspyr clearly aren’t sure how long this is going to take. This led to some very minor confusion because the post also doesn’t actually mention delaying the game, so some people jumped to the conclusion that the game is cancelled. This does not appear to be the case.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
